My experience is of gleeful contrasts that we get this window into the forces of earth's molten material being metamorphosed into such contrasting forms. Mid-Atlantic Ridge rock is the basalty form and Havre volcanic pumice-mud is the silica-rich form. The rock slurry from Kane Fracture Zone is on the chattered pattern interior and back. Warm speckled areas are Havre mud.

Center of seaglass.

Seaglass sprinkled in center of bowl over a blue brushstroke colors the otherwise thinly applied pumice/mud from the Kermadec Trench's volcanic eruption of 2012. See more in the Havre Pumice/Mud category.

On porcelain clay, coordinates and depth written with a brush on exterior, contrast silica-rich Havre mud (thinly and thickly applied) and lavender glaze assembled from refined materials.

Rim and foot are glazers assembled from refined materials.

On porcelain clay, seaglass center surrounded by Mid-Atlantic Ridge and Havre volcano pumice/mud. Rim and foot of glazes assembled from refined materials.

Fluid pumice-glaze and fluid porcelain that tore as I was throwing and I caught the tears in a way well-suited for the Earth's assymetrical ways of spewing it's molten forms. Learn more about the geophysical investigations of this pumice-mud glaze.

This one has a band from the Mariana Trench, cruise named "Challenger Deep". Chatter pattern is Mid-Atlantic ridge and exterior is submarine volcano's pumice=mud from Havre eruption. Rim, center and foot glaze assembled from land-based materials.
10" x 2"
Opposing characters formed by magma; one from Mid-Atlantic rock slurry is dark brown and one from pumice-mud from submarine volcano's eruption north of New Zealand. Center of seaglass. Lavender glaze on rim assembled from refined materials.

Keep clicking for back, side and bigger views. On porcelain, interior is the Havre pumice/mud sample and exterior is a wash of rock slurry from Kane Fracture Zone (a Mid-Atlantic Ridge site) that was used as a stain on a surface chattered by a metal tool jumping on the leather hard wall during the trimming stage of shaping the foot.
5.5" x 2.25"
Mid-Atlantic Ridge rock slurry surround center of seaglass over which is a dip into Havre volcano pumice/mud.

Some WOW stuff came from the kiln over twenty years of melting muds and rocks. Some I photographed and have assembled into a set of twelve cards you can see as thumbnails and a slideshow here. Cards are blank inside EXCEPT a thirteenth with a LEGEND inside -- it refers to numbers on each card.
NOTE about shipping: $7.50 is the cost of one in a Flat Rate USPS box but website only calculates UPS. If you need shipping, I'll subtract the difference between $7.50 and the UPS charge so you'll pay the lower cost. If you're buying multiple boxes, I'll probably use UPS; if in doubt, contact me.
